SECOND PRIZE

in  THE NATIONAL PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION

The national round of the English Public Speaking competition was held on 6th November.

Teodora Stoyanova Vladinska, Year 11, ranked second in her age group among 25 contestants from all over the country. Mrs Ivelina Angelova, who has been teaching her English since 8th grade, says that Teodora is highly motivated, ambitious and determined to succeed. She spared no effort to get well prepared for the competition, which requires not only a thorough knowledge of Shakespeare’s language but also a quick wit and resourcefulness.  Apart from having a flair for languages, Teodora often takes the initiative and contributes to the successful conduct of a number of school events. She is also one of the school’s representatives in the local Student Parliament.

Teodora’s outstanding performance is yet recognition for our students’ excellent linguistic skills and the highly stimulating environment the school offers.

2019-2020

Students from the English classes in our school took part in one of the hardest linguistic competitions – The English Language Olympiad. They showed excellent skills scoring more than 85 points. For the fourth year in a row, Valentina Blajeva, student in 11th a class, demonstrated outstanding linguistic abilities and knowledge and qualified for the National round of the Olympiad which was supposed to take place this spring in Burgas. We hope that this round will happen later this year and wish good luck to Valya!

Creative Writing Competition in English was held for the seventh consecutive year in our school. In December 2019 thirty-five students took part in it and demonstrated their skills and creativity in writing on a variety of topics such as: There are no passengers on Spaceship Earth. We are all crew.; Of all the things I’ve lost I miss my mind the most.; I lie to myself all the time. But I never believe me.; Emotional baggage must now be checked-in at the airport; My brilliant friend – English.
All the participants were awarded certificates for their successful performance. The students of our language school have shown excellent creative performance more than once during the years. Some of the most distinguished ones who have taken part in the national rounds of the competition are Daniela Kirilova, Victoria Dobreva, Nadezhda Sadinova, Plamen Markov, Trayana Vladimirova and others.
May all the participants be daring and successful!
